- Labour politician getting upset at being called transphobic is like a reform politician getting upset at being called racist. Labour are *the* transphobia party.
- Labour is digging in to transphobia. So much for being a party that cares about the vulnerable and marginalised.
- The party’s statement on transphobia directly encourages “gender critical views”, which is a euphemism for transphobia. I quit the party over this a few years ago and it hasn’t been sorted yet.
- Labour on the other hand has absolutely gone all-in on transphobia. I don't know who is actually against transphobia in the uk at this point other than normal people.
- Labour is institutionally transphobic and doesn't give a shit about women and girls beyond transphobia.
- Also, transphobia is not a vote-winner. Labour are tanking in the polls. I'm not so optimistic as to pretend they're losing support primarily because of transphobia, but it certainly isn't helping them claw it back.
- Really can't stress enough that labour's addiction to transphobia is not only not gaining them votes, it's actively losing them, and they're still doubling down on it.
- You can't even argue that transphobia is part of a sensible electoral strategy, because most of the public aren't actually transphobic. Labour just do it because they want bigots to like them.
- Fun fact: last year was the first where several of my friends didn’t vote labour because of their transphobia. It was also the first i didn’t back labour.
- This is descending into a festival of transphobia! both labour and the conservatives are demonstrating that they are two inherently transphobic parties.
- This is horrifyingly prescient. The tories use transphobia to distract from class warfare. Labour are ideologically *committed* to the transphobia.
- Labour have introduced more anti-trans policies and legislation over the last 5 months than the tories did over the last 14 years. Labour are the transphobia party.
- I feel like the tories did transphobia because it was a useful issue for them, and because it was somewhat expected - labour appear to be doing transphobia because they sincerely believe in it, and that is very worrying.
- Every uk left party has a transphobia problem, and only one of them is openly pro trans at the moment (greens.).
- My background btw is that i’m a former lgbt labour officer (on the wales committee), so i’ve followed the party’s descent into out and out transphobia closely and with great dismay.
- Transphobia is as good a reason as any to never vote labour again in your life. But there are so many more!
- There's clearly no place for anyone opposing transphobia in today's labour party.
- Tired of being told i need to accept transphobia for ‘the greater good’. No. I don’t actually. Labour could just stop being transphobic.
- I left the party over their transphobia and i knew they'd be bad. Tories are transphobic, labour are 'gender critical'. It's like the difference between racist and kk.
