- Racism and sexism are very real, but they are mainly tools for the oligarchy to keep the working class from uniting against them. Why else do you think the oligarchs stoke racism and sexism? we need all races and all sexes to unite against the oligarchs.
- It’s all a class issue at its core. Racism, homophobia, sexism, transphobia: these are tools created by the ruling class to control the masses by keeping them squabbling and divided.
- Capitalism cannot exist without sexism and racism. Keeping us divided makes the fascists richer and richer, and no one wants to call it out. Disgusting. Humanrights.
- We're in a class war where racism, sexism, homo/trans phobia are being used to keep the proletariat from joining together to eat the rich.
- Sexism, misogyny, racism, oppression are some of the tools that the wealthy (who are mostly white men) use to keep the populace divided so it's more difficult to rise up against them.
- To be fair, the racism and sexism are merely a means to the real goal, which is oligarchy.
- This is false. Racism and sexism exist without regard to economic system. It’s what a lot of black people learned when they joined far left organizations over the decades. Intraracial sexism exists and there are white supremacist socialists.
- That part. Because fixing classism will not magically end racism, sexism, misogyny, ageism, ableism and more.
- I've thought a lot about how easy it is for any left leaning white man to chalk up all problems to class and capitalism. It's a trap i fell into back when i was in college. It's easier to believe that racism and sexism are a product of capitalism rather than driving forces in their own right.
- Racism, sexism, homophobia, etc. Will exist regardless of what class and labour divisions there are. You're not gonna fix complex social issues by having the workers own the means of production. This is literally just class reductionism but woke.
- The ‘class war’ take fails in its entirety to address issues that fall outside strict economics. Wealth doesn’t protect against racism or sexism.
- Do i think capitalism sucks? yeah, but i also know that even if you remove it, inequality will still exist bc that’s driven by racism and sexism. That’s the part leftists/commies/socialists refuse to acknowledge. Class solidarity doesn’t erase bigotry.
- Bless your little heart. We are dealing with multiple systems of oppression at the same can't fight classism without also simultaneously fighting racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, etc. Gain the ability to multitask.
- That is a secondary effect of racism. Not its cause. Racism, classism, and sexism are three heads of the same snake. You cannot cut the head off one. The entire snake has to die.
- I don’t see how capitalism can ever be separated from the racism and sexism that has allowed it to flourish. It’s all intersectional.
- Don't be a class reductionist. The fight against racism, sexism, and every form of bigotry is the working class struggle. If we make a system that actually attempts to address these problems, then the working class might actually be able to stand as one.
- Racism, sexism, anti-lgbt bigotry, and all the rest of it are not oppositional to class issues, but inextricable from them.
- Capitalism relies on and reifies racism, ableism, sexism, etc. A class war by necessity must address all of these. It must be an intersectional project.
