1. La Opresión y el Abuso de Poder Institucional.
El discurso está dominado por la percepción de que personas e instituciones con poder están activamente utilizando su posición para oprimir, legislar en contra y eliminar la visibilidad de las personas trans.
- Another example - trying to command the lives of trans ppl by eliminating trans legibility. They are brutally wielding sovereign power over trans life bsky.approfileerin.
- Too many entrusted with positions of power are demonizing transgender people, blaming them for acts of violence, and criminalizing their very right to occupy space in our common life.
- The people in power calling for the elimination of trans people are definitely the danger whether or not they sincerely believe in eliminating trans people.
- Elderly trans women and young girls have been cruelly cut off from their community and friends, even though they have caused literally no problems. This is gross bigotry, funded by those who think having wealth power gives them the right to destroy other peoples lives.
- The entire leadership is on board with transphobia so theres noone in a position of power to push back.
- When push comes to shove cis people in actual positions of power who dressed themselves in pride flags but only really ever did that kind of allyship are throwing us under the bus. They are demonstrating we cant trust them.
- Theres this disconnect where cis people in positions of power think well i dont think anything bad about trans people obviously they know i support them and then will go into a room and say the most ominous hand-wringing fence-sitting shit and every trans person there is like oh we are fucked.
- Itd be really nice if people in positions of power influence who purport to support trans people did something for trans people.
- I do not buy the context dependent slur line. The way you just tried to use context dependent slur shows arbitrary exercise of power where someone in power just decides when it is and isnt a slur with no established logical rules constitutionalization which is tyranny.
- I really wish these headlines would stop using the term professor, though. The person put on leave was a trans teaching assistant, someone with little to no institutional power, in a state famously hostile to trans folk the whole thing was a bad-faith clout-chase, start to finish.
3. La Resistencia, el Poder Comunitario y la Alegría.
A pesar de la opresión, el texto resalta la fuerza inherente de la comunidad trans, manifestada a través de la alegría, la resistencia, la visibilidad y la creación de espacios seguros.
- Trans power is real. Trans joy is resistance. Trans lives are beautiful and worth protecting every day.
- Queer joy and trans power are unstoppable. Love is love and we will never back down. Our community shines in every color we deserve safety, dignity, and a future free from hate.
- Good morning, lovelies! the world is trying to make trans people basically disappear, and they want us afraid and hopeless, because thats easier to manage than a community that knows its own power.
- Trans week of visibility and i feel in this current moment its more important to be vocal of who we are and celebrate it as those in power try to eliminate us and our way of life.
- We honor the lives and memories of transgender people whose lives were tragically taken by anti-trans violence. In these painful and frightening times, we also uplift the brilliance, joy, and power of trans community as resistance.
4. La Dinámica del Poder Dentro de la Comunidad.
Se discuten las dinámicas de poder internas, particularmente las tensiones entre mujeres trans y hombres trans, y la crítica a figuras trans que parecen asimilarse a las estructuras de poder existentes.
- But then what hope is there of us winning? cis people outnumber us, they hold all the institutional power, and i frankly dont trust most of them to give enough of a shit about us to stick their necks out unless it stands to benefit them as well.
- Calling it so only hurts trans women. Its just a way to try and silence trans women and a way for trans men to try and keep the systemic and social power they hold over trans women.
- The most insidious part of this is how any trans person who wants to attain any level of power or influence in society has to internalize this themselves, which is how we end up with e.g. Sarah mcbride.
- I never feel represented by this conservative ideology!! fascist ideology. Filled with lies. All denial of womanhood and hormones. Something fascist participate in every single day. Giving power to abuser family.
- I think this is a power over slur. When i was in the army a common slur wasits not who you know its who you blow not likely a predator like dt would take a passive role.
