Numerosas fuentes, incluyendo estimaciones del propio gobierno y organizaciones benéficas, advierten que los recortes propuestos a los beneficios por discapacidad (como el PIP y el UC Health Element) empujarán a cientos de miles de personas vulnerables, incluidos niños, a la pobreza extrema.

Se señala que esta inacción podría resultar en el mayor aumento de la pobreza infantil bajo un gobierno laborista en décadas.
