1. Desconfianza y Mentiras Policiales.
- Cops lie. Cops lie all the time. We really need people to get their heads around this concept. Stop taking police statements as true just because a cop said it.
- The scale of police lies was appalling.i guess weve been seeing a smaller version here recently.
- If i end up on a jury and during voir dire i were asked if i could convict based on only police testimony, this would be my three word answer -- nope. Cops lie.
- Police are so weirdly inept at their jobs its a wonder so much crime goes unresolved or unreported to begin with.
- This is the kind of thing that absolutely infuriates me - police going unpunished where guilt is clear. Unhappily, it happens down here - and probably everywhere.
- I do so hate these police policing themselves type situations. They have absolutely nothing to gain in finding theyre doing something so toxic.
- No police convicted or disciplined. Do police not realize how they undermine confidence in them and the whole criminal justice system by always evading responsibility?
- The tragedy of a false conviction often overshadows the fact that the terrible police behaviour meant the killer has not been caught.
- Uncritically acting as a stenographer is as useless to the public as uncritically repeating police statements as fact. Stop doing both.
- I hate headlines like this. Their son is being questioned by police and no arrests have been made. What happened to innocent until proven guilty?
- People magazine is lying - read the la time aticle. At the time it was posted which was after the people article, the police were waiting for a warrant to investigate the home and were interviewing family as done with all homicides. Its shameful.
- The police need to keep the evidence out of the public view until a conviction has been brought. People need to stop pushing them for new information and let them do their jobs!
- If the cops are allowed to lie to you, and as long as the us uses the adversarial justice system, the best move for any person, that is being questioned by police, is not to speak at all and demand a lawyer.
- The innocent are easy prey. They want to tell the police everything, no need for a solicitor, just the truth. They dont realise the officer isnt interested in justice.
- Remember that it is 100 legal for the police to lie to you to coerce a confession - its called reasonable deception.
- Sighs it is utterly routine for the police to fail to mirandize arrestees and it almost never matters that much.
