- This harms and demeans all women athletes. Transphobia and misogyny go hand in hand.
- The whole 'it's unfair for trans athletes to compete in women's sports!' thing is just so fucking idiotic. The entire thing is based on the assumption that 'well of course any man could beat any woman in a sport'. It starts from a position of misogyny and continues to transphobia.
- The message between the lines with transphobes in sport contexts is always "men are better than women at everything", i.e. Misogyny.
- If only people could see that trans misogyny comes from the same place as any misogyny and affects all women and afab people.
- The attacks on trans athletes has always been rooted in misogyny. Always remember bigots hate women's sports, because they think it is against their narrow definition of femininity and, of course, they think women are the lesser sex.
- You can tell trans phobia is a byproduct of misogyny, because with all the drama about "fairness in sports" they never mention trans men in sports, and how unfair it would be for them.
- Yes, misogyny, but also if folks cared about fairness they would fund women's teams at the same level as men's teams and we all know they don't. If they cared about protecting girls they'd be going after abusive cishet male coaches and trainers, and we all know they don't. This is about trans hate.
- This is the institutionalized misogyny in sports. It has been going on forever and need to be stopped.
- Not one of these fuckers pretending to be “protecting women in sports” has suggested: 1. Increasing funding for women’s sports. 2. Addressing misogyny in men’s sports. 3. Promoting equal access to sports facilities and resources. It’s all about harming women, cis and trans. They hate all women.
- The misogyny has always been there, it’s why the sports are separate anyway. The transphobia is just an added bonus for the dumbass bigots, they get to hate on more folks all at the same time.
- If you really cared about women's sports you'd be raging daily about the disparity in womens' funding over mens sports. A real issue. Instead, you rage about 0.002% of athletes and then scream misogyny when people point out your flawed bigoted logic.
- Gendered segregation in sports is grossly inspired by both racism and misogyny, an artificially created means to subjugate non-white non-cis men that's been perpetuated for years.
- The anti-trans sports crowd really piss me off because, in addition to being transphobes, they infantilize and dismiss female athletes, all while pretending they're doing women a favor.
- The trans athlete bs is rooted in misogyny as well because the underlying assumption is that cis women aren’t good enough at sports to best a man so cis women need to be “protected” from trans women, who transphobes hate and fear because to them being a woman means being less than a man.
- Misogyny and authoritarianism are linked. Now, women's sports are valid and deserve more recognition than they get, but his notion of being their "defender" puts them in the position of needing defending and therefore being weak.
- The attacks on the tiny minority of trans women in sports are really about this: policing gender norms that demand a subordinate, weaker existence. It’s all about misogyny, and punishing deviation.
- So much anti-trans rhetoric is rooted in misogyny. You see somebody talk about how trans women are invading sports and their argument is more or less "we gotta protect the poor meek widdle women from the big scary transes that will bruise their tender lily white flesh!".
- Women’s sports are not so fragile, ffs. That’s a longstanding, historical idea rooted in misogyny.
- They tell on themselves when they focus only on "women's" sports. It's misogyny, period!
- The misogyny of it all, in addition to the transphobia and hatred is so infuriating. Not a peep about trans men in male sports in any of these cases (or any of the other trans attacks) because that would undermine a lot of their arguments.
- Its why no one gives a fuck about trans men competing in womens sports, cause they dont actually believe in the integrity of the sport its just misogyny.
- Truly the most telling shit here is that they're only concerned with trans athletes participating in girls sports, not boys sports it just drips with misogyny.
- They don’t care about trans men in male sports though. Almost as if it’s actually just misogyny.
- I find it very telling that every single politician and media outlet talks about trans women in women’s sports… but completely ignores the existence of trans men in men’s sports. You all know there’s a pretty equal amount of folks that transition ftm as there is mtf right? misogyny in disguise.
