- Why elected officials and the president ffs are allowed to lie to constituents is appalling. Imagine if such a thing was not allowed.
- Its illegal to lie to the government and congress but politicians and congress can lie all they want. This needs to change.
- Why do we let politicians lie with no consequences? seriously. Why are we allowing this?
- I do not understand how elected legislators have zero obligation not to lie to the public and zero consequences for doing so. Its vile.
- The complete lack of consequences for outright lying is going to be the death of this country.
- It should be a law that its illegal to intentionally deceive citizens if you are running or in office. Prison .
- Make it a criminal offence for a politician to lie, and you could make america better than it is now.
- We need to have a law that if you are in public office and you provably lie you go to prison. Not even crimes other than that, no alternative of a fine, if someone asks you a question and you lie you go straight to the big house.
- It should be a felony for appointed and elected officials to lie to the public.
- If you knowingly lie as a politician, the fuxking death penalty.
- Politicians lie because it worksvoters believe them, and media too often repeats the lies instead of calling them out.
- Politicians ability to lie so freely is because the supreme court conveniently ruled that political speech is protected. In other words, sanctioned lying.
- The moral arc in politics will always favor bad faith players. And because they lie and never show shame when discovered, voters perceive it as a kind of strength and elect them.
- If you lie to the american public, you should be prosecuted for being a traitor to the country!
- The problem is the lies plain and simple they just fucking lie at will, till that ends voters have no chance.
