- Immigrants do not steal american jobs — they take the jobs nobody else wants to do, especially in the farming sector. You don't see anyone from maga lining up to pick produce in 100 heat or other dangerous jobs for near zero pay.
- Why do we have so many immigrants doing these jobs in the first place? because no american wants to do them. This is a universal problem and is not going to go away.
- Americans don't want the jobs immigrants take! farm workers picking crops, butchers in slaughterhouses, elder care, landscape work . It's impossible to get, or to keep, americans in these hard, uncomfortable, sometimes dangerous jobs for minimum wage.
- Immigrants have never been taking jobs away from americans. Americans are unwilling to work these unskilled, low wage, physically demanding jobs.
- Rounding up working immigrants (not criminals) have hurt farming, construction, healthcare, childcare, & any job an american does not want to do.
- The result of trump’s attack on latino workers will be food delivery shortages and higher costs. Simple economics.
- Repeat after me: rounding up immigrants and deporting them does not create job openings for native-born americans. It shrinks the economy and destroys jobs.
- "the war on immigrants is also inflationary, choking off production in industries - rely heavily on foreign-born workers. Stories are proliferating of crops left to rot in the fields - farmers can’t find anyone to harvest them".
- They just need the people who said “the immigrants are taking our jobs” to come to their farms and do the work. Donald’s voters.
- I thought immigrants were taking american's jobs!! apparently, americans don't really want those jobs.
- It is going to be interesting to watch the contradiction between the unstoppable force of american racism and the unwillingness of americans to actually do the work they've been getting immigrants to do for decades. No jobs were stolen if no one was doing them to start with.
- Where's the magas that said, immigrants are taking our jobs, deport them. Well peaches, where are you. Get your butts out in the fields and take back your jobs.
- But do not ever allow a person to say that the reason farmers hire immigrants is because americans won't do those jobs again. It's an absolute lie. These farmers do not want to hire americans because they can't abuse americans the way they can immigrants.
- I love how they always frame it as immigrants, taking jobs away rather than business owners stealing jobs to give to cheaper immigrants.
- If you ever wonder why corporations that rely on immigrant labor support anti-immigration politicians, this is it. If you criminalize your workforce, if you disenfranchise them? you can easily exploit them, without penalty.
- Americans exploiting immigrants is the true illegality.
