- Interesting how racism, homophobia and misogyny are just simply equated to conservatism.
- Conservatism is always about racism and misogyny and homophobia. Always. Any other reason never stands up to scrutiny and is always just a fig leaf of modesty for conservatives’ odious views.
- Just admit it- everything that any so-called conservative is about is racism and homophobia . Thats all they have-thats all they care about.
- Honestly, those are synonyms these days anyway. The entire "conservative" movement has become all about racism, misogyny, homophobia, and transphobia, as well as other miscellaneous bigotries. There's no coherent ideology anymore, it's all just hate.
- Conservatism doesn't "have a problem with misogyny;" it is misogyny. It is racism. It is homophobia, transphobia and the rest. Those factors are innate, however much they might be obfuscated, masked, denied. They are fundamental to conservatism.
- Because institutionalized homophobia misogyny and racism are the new conservative values .
- We have a problem with people (mostly conservatives) who claim homophobia xenophobia misogyny and racism as values.
- One of the things that fascinates me over the past 10 years is how racism, homophobia, xenophobia, in sum, bigotry of all kinds, has been rebranded "conservative", to give it a luster of respectability. You can't criticize it because it's just a different, valid worldview.
- "conservative values" homophobia, illiberal bigotry, authoritarianism. Conservative populism claims to represent the "will of the people".
- Too bad that "true conservative values" appear to be willful ignorance, religious bigotry, misogyny, racism, homophobia/transphobia, ableism, and every other possible disgusting belief or attribute, along with worshiping a palpably evil man.
- The foundation of all so-called "conservatism" is hypocrisy. "rules for thee do not apply to me" and all that. It's always "us vs them" and exclusionary. It's sexism, racism, homophobia, & xenophobia.
- The unspoken, and now increasingly spoken, philosophy behind american conservatism is that some people are simply better than others. The racism, sexism, homophobia, etc. You see on the right are all rooted in the idea that groups of people are more or less normal, good or righteous than others.
- It is about looking back to an imagined past that never was and believing that if you reinstitute the racism, homophobia and other assorted bigotries that dominated it you'll get prosperity.
- "basically, the 'rewards' for racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, etc. Were removed by societal progress, especially following the election of barack obama. So conservatives have been raging, on a steady uptick, ever since because they know their time is coming to an end.".
- A conservative finds no issue with sexism, racism, homophobia, classism because they provide stability to the status quo. A liberal takes issue bigotries, but takes only small actions lest the status quo become destabilized. A radical sees that the status quo is the issue, and seeks a better world.
- I sincerely probably have the most hatred right now for the conservatives using trans rights and the current mass amounts of transphobia to blame for the rise of homophobia and trying to get cis queers to divide from trans folks. Fuck that.
- The conservatives just keep getting more grotesque with their abject bigotry, homophobia and transphobia.
- It is fact. Conservatives saw that they weren't gaining ground with their homophobia so they moved to the next target, trans people.
- I feel like we've just straight up memory holed what conservatives were like even 15-20 years ago. The level of misogyny and homophobia, the full on denying of smoking causing cancer, the evolution denial young earth creationists. This was mainstream!
- English conservatism in the 80s was like "we'll help you buy your own home, working class people! and here's a side of racism and homophobia to go with that." now? "yeah, we're not pretending to care about you any longer. 100% fascism, racism and homophobia. That's what we have.".
