- Myself, i alternate between reading fiction and non-fiction.
- Nice! i don't know about you, but being able to switch between fiction and nonfiction seems to give me a refreshing brain break.
- I read a fiction and a non fiction book at the same. The fiction is usually my reward/escape because the non fiction isn't always pleasant or juicy.
- I'm about the same. One fiction and one nonfiction at any given time.
- I'm alternating fiction and non-fiction (current events) books so i don't go crazy.
- I usually have one fiction book and one non fiction going, but i probably need to add more graphic novel/comic kind of stuff in there too. Haha.
- Just non fiction. Im all for learning new things, but for me, reading time is 'escape from reality' time. Especially lately, where i've had more than my own share of reality already.
- I used to read a lot more non-fiction. Right now i prefer to hide in fiction to save my sanity.
- I wish people wouldn't use "non-fiction" as a synonym for "self-help." [...] but more than ever i want to know how the world works. Novels can wait.
- I can’t imagine life without reading i’m a non-fiction reader. Always wanting to learn.
- You ever need non-fiction? i know folks read to get lost, but sometimes i can’t escape into a story no matter how great the writing. Sometimes i just crave non-fic so i can sit there like okay, please, teach me all the stuff.
- I read for escapism and joy. Neither are to be found in non-fiction rn.
- What do you like to read? i am primarily a non-fiction guy but do the occasional novel.
- I pretty much only read fiction which makes me feel like an unserious person but always happy to get novel recommendations.
- Secretly i am very ashamed of how little i read fiction. Almost every book i read is nonfiction.
- I’m really a fiction lover, but recently i seen to have discovered some fascinating non-fiction books so that’s where i am atm.
- Non fiction is my preference. Occasionally i will choose fiction, and then realize why i often don't - it scares the crap out of me.
- I envy ppl who can actively read fiction. My brain just doesn’t enjoy it anymore. I’m only into history or textbook… maybe reference books etc.
- My work has me reading so much nf and academic stuff that i'm appreciating fiction more. I'm still v choosy though.
- I feel like the non-fiction right now helps me with the pandemic and current events because i'm really careful about curating it.
- I haven’t read a novel since before the 2016 election and i’m a librarian! my reading time is completely wrapped up in non-fiction: economics and politics and social science because i fear for the future of my country.
- In my defense i basically only read non fiction for the entirety of college i need some fiction to get my brain working again.
- I have to read a lot of non fic for work, research librarian for history and medicine, so on my downtime i only read fiction.
- Ha - this is exactly why i read fiction, because reading the non-fiction that i do for my job means i have to escape when not working!
