Gran parte de la discusión se centra en que el narcotráfico es una actividad criminal basada en el lucro, mientras que el terrorismo requiere objetivos políticos o religiosos específicos.
- Terrorism is the use of violence and intimidation in the pursuit of political or ideological aims. Drug traffickers are not terrorists. They have no ideological or political aims.
- A drug dealer usually only wants to make money. Its nearly as stupid as fighting ukrainian nazis.
- Drug traffickers arent terrorists they are capitalists. However killing them to incite political change in their home country is the definition of terrorism.
2. Críticas al uso de la fuerza militar y la falta de debido proceso.
Existe una fuerte preocupación por la legalidad de los ataques con drones y ejecuciones extrajudiciales en aguas internacionales, argumentando que violan los derechos humanos fundamentales.
- Labeling as terrorism is just bs used to justify murdering people with no evidence, no due process and no regard for the rule of law or even simple human decency!
- Anyone suspected of crimes, is allowed to due process. Its not an instant death penalty. Drugs can be apprehended, thus preventing any trade. They arent bombs.
- Assassinating unarmed civilians on moving boats is illegal. Why stretch the meaning of war in dangerous ways?
3. El narcoterrorismo como herramienta de propaganda y control.
Muchos usuarios perciben el término como una invención mediática diseñada para deshumanizar a los sospechosos y facilitar acciones militares agresivas sin supervisión.
- Wanna know why youve never heard the term narco-terrorist before now? because its a made-up term. Theyre drug runners. Theyre pieces of shit, but not terrorists.
- Narco-terrorist is just a idiot-created buzzword from the idiots in the white house, right? because they want to try to re-frame drug trafficking as terrorism?
- This made-up, political bs term narco-terrorist bothers me. Terrorist has a definition to sow fear among the civilian population, usually for political reasons.
4. Inconsistencias y dobles estándares en la política de seguridad.
Se señala la contradicción de atacar a transportistas de bajo nivel mientras se ignoran las causas internas del consumo o se perdonan a figuras poderosas vinculadas al tráfico.
- The sackler family comes to mind. They created a highly addictive drug and pushed it as safe. The cartels are not promoting or forcing drug use like the sacklers did.
- Are they only narco terrorists when theyre in fishing boats or does that term apply to pardoned drug smugglers and kingpins?
- If drug dealing becomes a form of terrorism then all of the anti-terrorism laws can be used against drug dealers. And presumably, its up to trump to decide who counts.
