- They havent provided a shred of evidence that these are drug boats. For all we know, they are killing random fishermen for no reason.
- Wheres the proof that any of these boats were running drugs. Youd think that the dea could find the drug packages among the wreckage.
- Drug traffickers are criminals not combatants. And it seems likely that some of these were fishing boats.
- Drug smuggling is a crime, not warfare it does not create combatant status it does not authorize sinking a vessel it does not bypass international law.
- It is a war crime to attack people who have been shipwrecked at sea, as some in congress have alleged happened.
- Killing survivors after an attack breaches every maritime law in the book this should be treated as a war crime.
- A boat that size would need to refuel dozens of times to reach the u.s. There is no way they could carry enough fuel, let alone a drug cargo.
- Those boats werent equipped to make it all the way to the us, they are far too short range.
- If there were 11 or so people they killed on that drug boat - it wouldnt have been a drug boat. Drug smugglers only need a couple people to operate a boat.
- There were likely victims of human trafficking on that boat who were also murdered.
- The coast guard has been stopping these drug boats since forever. They dont have to kill anyone to do so.
- Our military could easily board these boats, take the operators into custody, and find out whats really on board.
