- Vance: “entrenched interests hiding behind ugly soviet-era words like misinformation and disinformation, who simply don’t like the idea that somebody with an alternative viewpoint might express a different opinion or, god forbid, vote a different way, or even worse, win an election.” just bullshit.
- He even marked the terms misinformation and disinformation as "ugly soviet-era words". Of course he did.
- Trying to scare people with the pejorative "ugly soviet-era" to misrepresent "misinformation" & "disinformation," vp vance insults europeans--actually any honest person--by redefining those words as simply a different opinion. It's gaslighting. A big difference between fact & opinion, truth & lies.
- This was a pretty shocking speech, but i can’t get past vance’s assertion that misinformation & disinformation are just differences of opinion rather than lies, and attempting to stop the spread of mis/disinformation is censorship. It’s nihilistic and dangerous, because it means there are no facts….
- Vance attempts to school european democracies by admonished the suppression of free speech; eventhough, his administration is sanctioning journalists who don't agree with trump.
- I listened to vance's speech he gave in germany. What he says is rich coming from the vp of an administration that bans journalists from the wh if they hold & challenge what the administration does. He riles about europe limiting disinformation because this administration is the master of it.
- My god, vance is as big a liar as trump. This is how an authoritarian regime behaves. As long as these thugs are in power we will not be privy to the truth and it’ll be a nonstop litany of lies, deflection, misinformation and disinformation. It’s all they have.
- Vance has some nerve lecturing europe on democracy and free speech rights of white supremacists while the musk-trump-vance regime dismembers democracy and the rule of law in the usa, and retaliates against news organizations explicitly for refusing to spread lies and disinformation of the regime.
- Listen to vance just acting as a russian asset, note he criticised anyone for pointing out "misinformation" and "disinformation", the two biggest weapons in russia's arsenal. Russia has beaten america in the information war, turned the maga crowd against europe.
- Vance also told the wall street journal that the threat to european democracy from online disinformation -- including narratives pushed by russia -- had been overstated. Proof that vance is in the pockets of russia!!
- J d vance is as much of a putin pawn as trump is. They're both living in a russian disinformation bubble and spouting russian talking points wherever they go.
- . Vance portraying russia's disinformation as "russia buying a few ads on facebook" was disgusting. Putin is getting everything that he wants.
- Jd vance is well-aware that the only way he and trump got elected was through mechanized dissemination of disinformation and misinformation by them and their cronies on fox news, twitter, etc. He needs to stfu and stop lecturing anyone on free speech and democracy (and jesus).
- It is obvious now that vance's 'free speech' speech was an attempt to attack europe over its efforts to stop malign influences, and influencers, such as musk, using social media to feed lies and disinformation to impact on elections.
- Jd vance and others on the right are always going on about "free speech" and "censorship." it's not that they are legitimately concerned about those issues. Instead, it's that they know that their influence depends heavily on disinformation, russian propaganda and the free flow of hate speech.
