- China is a democracy serving the best interests of its people. Its citizens, by and large, know and appreciate that despite other flaws. Everything else are western lies to trick you into hating the vanguard of global democracy.
- China is not a democracy its an autocratic regime, and those who expected the growth of the chinese middle class to lead inexorably to political liberalization have been proved decisively wrong.
- Theres never a bad time to remind yall that the peoples republic of china is more democratic than the us, utilizing both elective and consultative democracy. In a time when pretty much any functional democracy can outdo the united states, the prc sprints ahead with depth and breadth of vision.
- China is not a democracy in that sense that it holds elections. Its not even a democracy in the sense that it really holds fake elections. Chinas propaganda line is that its a democracy because its responsive to public opinion or something, but they dont really push it that hard.
- Taiwan is a country because 23 million people live self-governed lives every day. Their democracy exists in fact, not in theory. And no amount of repetition from an authoritarian government can overwrite that reality.
- Never forget that taiwan has never been part of communist china !! its a vibrant democracy proudly standing to the threats of a totalitarian regime. All the real democracies must support taiwan.
- Taiwan will defend its freedom and democracy, president says china making a renewed push for taiwan to accept its autonomy offer us expresses concerns about chinese activity around taiwan.
- Then beijing killed any hope of limited democracy in hong kong and all bets were off. The only viable model was destroyed.
- Chow hang-tung, a former leader of the group that organized a decades-old vigil to remember chinas 1989 crackdown on pro-democracy protesters in beijings tiananmen square, was charged in 2021 with inciting subversion, which carries a maximum penalty of 10 years.
- The chinese government points to the sad mess that is the us, shakes its head and says look at the inherent flaws of democracy. And theyre right.
- If china is gonna take over the energy infrastructure of the world via renewables because there was no obvious electoral upside and they dont have to worry about elections then maybe democracy isnt really fit for purpose for the 21st century.
- China builds things so fast orecisely because it is a dictatorship. The party says the new high-speed line shall be built, and it is done. In democratic countries, everything has to get approval from councils and parliaments. It is the price to pay for democracy.
- I am beginning to loathe how much i have come to respect the chinese system in comparison to what these bloated old capitalist ghouls have done to western democracy.
- Authoritarian regimes support each other in their quest to kill democracy. Never trust the chinese. They are evil snakes, undermining and spying on the same countries they sell their products to. We really need to stop buying chinese stuff!
- China is at war with europe and democracy just as russia is. Both want to replace democracies with autocracies.
- Chinese spying amounts to interference in uk democracy, minister says, after mi5 warns mps.
- We really need to stop buying chinese stuff completely. They use their economic development for evil purposes, like undermining democracy everywhere and preparing for the invasion of taiwan.
