- "colonialism happened to africa. They broke up land w/out considering different ethnic populations. Cash crops destroyed land.".
- "white people created these conditions. Africa was, and is, a rich continent. These were not the conditions before colonialism. It has been violently exploited and this is the result.".
- "today is africa day, it baffles every thinking person that a continent so rich in natural resources and excellent human resources is still grinding under poverty, helplessness and unable to get benefits of their potentials. The answer is colonialism and neo colonialism.".

- "time for africa to unite and stand against colonialism. Africa's wealth has been stolen for decades to keep it poor and controlled. It's time to change the system.".

- "africa has been free from colonialism for 3 generations (or maybe six bc they breed at 12) and the result is going from exporting food to importing 86% of it. Look at south africa, they can’t even keep the power on now. They used to build artificial hearts and nuclear reactors.".
- "this is an african problem. Attempts at external input are written off as colonialism. So sort it out yourselves. Most of africa became independent in the 60s. 60 years to get your act together while other ex colonies have mostly flourished (inc some in africa). Stop squabbling and deal with it ffs.".
- "africa is not poor because of colonialism: here’s why, with magatte wade, the director of the center for african prosperity at atlas network, the leading organisation of african free-market think tanks.".
